I'm curious what Oppo's collective "real world" rides are, and how they change over time. Do you drive "interesting" cars or boring cars? Are you moving on up? or getting more basic? For this exercise keep it simple, list year, make, model, and if you feel it's necessary trim/engine/body style. No project cars or just for fun cars, I'd say keep it to a list but if you really want to post picks than more power to you. Including number of years driven might be interesting as well.

Mine latest to earliest: 96 Jeep Cherokee, 99 Cadillac Seville, 95 Chevy Tahoe, 90 GMC 1500, 95 Chevy Caprice, 84 Cadillac Deville, 79 Cadillac Deville

The diversity/variety posted here is pretty damn cool/interesting.

2005 Fiat Panda diesel. When that dies (probably soon) something Focus sized with a reasonable amount of power. I don't look for excitement in a daily car really, when I'm a bit more stable money wise I'll likely take on a project car.

'89 Supra

Then an 86.5 Supra and a 92 Supra (all 3 Supras at the same time).

During all that I aquired a 2005 Scion xB and during all that, I acquired a 2003 IS 300.

Sold the Supras and stuck with the IS and xB.

2002ish - 1988 Toyota Tercel 5 door with the optional 5 speed transmission. What a piece of shit. Died right before I turned 16.

2002-2003 - 1993 Honda Civic Del Sol Si - Pretty fun little car. Every rear window should roll down. My parents took it away from me when I was pulled over doing 110ish on a local road. Oops.

2004-2005 - 1993 Honda Accord - Also a piece of shit, but I got it for free, so whatever. This one had an automatic and died with less than 100k miles on the clock. Also lacked AC. In Florida. And I was doing alot of driving. I fucking hate that car.

2006-2011(?) - 2000 Hyundai Elantra Wagon - Okay, this car was the shit. It was slow and didn't handle well, but it was impossible to run out of space in it or kill the thing. This was supposedly on its last legs when I got it after six or seven years of abuse and 140k miles at the hands of my mother, but my Honda just died, no one would give her anything for it, and it ran, so I took it. I drove the thing all over the country and couldn't killed it. Finally called to get it scrapped when I had a new car lined up because it was worth even less once I was through with it. It's the only car I've ever owned that I was sad to see go. Turns out that the thing is still running! I saw it at a construction site I passed a few months ago. I like to think that it's going to turn into one of those old Toyota or Nissan trucks that have like 400k miles on them and are still being used every day for work. I romanticize cars a bit.

2011(?)-2014 - 2010 Mazda3 - My parents bought this for my brother to go to college (jeez, I never got a new car...). He didn't take it for a number of reasons, so I took over the payments. Whatever. This was the most "it's a car" of all of the cars I've owned. It was bland, but it wasn't bad. At the very least, it handled well and I was back to having a manual.

2014-present - 2014 Subaru BRZ - My first car bought from a dealership. I love it, but there was just something missing, and I'm not talking about the torque dip....

2014-present - 1989 Toyota MR2 - ...so I bought an old car! Technically a race/project car, but it gets more miles than the BRZ. This is my favorite yet, and the only one that has as much (more even) character as my old Hyundai and Tercel did.

2004-2008: 1976 Triumph 2500TC sedan. Hand-me-down from my parents. Learned to drive in it, and then dailied it for a few years before I bought the SD1 and the Triumph went on to my brother.

2008-2009: 1984 Rover 3500 SD1. I worked on it enough to call it a project car, but I DID drive it to work every day as well. Sold it and bought the Xantia because its fuel consumption was utterly ruining me over the long commute that I had at the time.

2009-2011: 1993 Citroën Xantia 2.0 SX. Probably the 'nicest' car I've ever owned. It had gone a long way, but had been pampered since new, and was in mint condition. Definitely a bit unusual, but trouble-free, practical, and very pleasant to drive. If I hadn't moved to the US in 2011, I'd probably still be driving it today.

2011-2014: Public transit – no daily-driver, just a few project cars. I'd steal my wife's 1996 VW Cabrio if I needed to go anywhere.

2014-present: 1996 Volvo 850R wagon. Like the SD1, kind of a project and daily-driver at the same time. Hopefully this one won't empty my bank account, though.

Huh, well if you count the true DD's that exist for that sole purpose its just these two.

98 Jeep Wrangler (2006-07)

94 Ford Ranger (2007-Current)

I've always had a project car. My first car that I bought when I was 15 was an 82 Jeep CJ-7 to restore, but the danger ranger has pretty much always been my DD/parts-hauler/work-truck/band-truck. When I got it I just said I'd drive it till it dies and then get something else, but the bastard won't die! It is getting pretty long in the tooth so it probably time to retire it. It may be boring to drive but I've always had fun to drive project cars.

My 85 MR2 is nearly a DD in the summer months though.

1999 Alfa 156 V6 - 2008-2013

1992 Jaguar XJ40 4.0l - 2013-2015

I've had a couple of other DDs on and off for a couple of months here and there while repairs are done. Those are a 1994 BMW E36 325i and a 2002 Alfa 156 2.4 JTD.

Not bad so far, but I plan to add at least a 1992 Citroen BX to that list in the next few months...

Then i bought a 1991 Cherokee and drove for a bit, then it became off road beater and future plans for it still.

Well, deferred maintenance. The cooling system was in very poor shape, and the coolant temperature sensor was bad. So, the very first time I took it out on the highway, it overheated so dramatically it blew a heater hose off and spun a main crank bearing, all while reading dead in the middle of the temperature gauge. I only ever drove it a handful of times before this happened.
